Looking for side trips in spain, czech, germany, and nlands

I'm going to be spending a week in each spain (barcelona), czech (prague), germany (berlin), and the netherlands (amsterdam), with about 3-4 days in the big cities and a few days out roaming the lesser seen ones. Can anyone give me some suggestions of hidden gems and cool cities in those countries that would be nice to see? I appreciate all the help!

Hi!

You are about to visiting a few of my favourites!
I haven´t been in Prague yet, but I´ve heard it´s a great city to visit. I know the sightseeings in Prague are very close to each other so you probably have plenty of time to see it all. As you want to spend time outside the city as well you should go to Terezin.

Berlin and Amsterdam are amazing! While you are in Berlin I would definitely visit some of the remaining from the world war. To me the East Side Gallery, The Jewish Museum and Checkpoint Charlie were very impressive.
Amsterdam is great because of it´s canals, so I recommend you to do a canal cruise. Interested in museums? Visit the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh and the Anne Frank House. It´s also nice to experience Amsterdams Café Culture.

I´m living in Barcelona at the moment and it´s fantastic! It would be hard to explore the city just in 3 or 4 days. If I were you I would make a guided tour (there are plenty!) to see the beauty in this city. Sagrada Familia, Montjuïc, parcs, beaches and much more! In the evening there are great places to go out for a drink and you should taste the delicious tapas they serve here!

Good luck with your trip! Any questions left? don’t hesitate to ask me!

If you go to the Netherlands... Try to pay a visit to Leiden (30 mins by train) and/or Delft (40-50 minutes by train) Utrecht is quite nice too, and it can be worth the visit to go to the Beach somewhere in South-Holland/North-Holland.

And for Berlin, you could simply spend a week there, haha. Great city with a very interesting history.

I would definitely try and visit Lubeck next to the Baltic sea in North Germany. It truly is a lesser known gem that I can only describe as like a "chocolate box" . Its known as the queen of the hanse after its status as the once major port in the mediveal hanseatic league.

Its mediveal architecture is some of the best to be seen anywhere. And has been awarded world heritage status.

Brick gothic towers and spires, along with medieval merchant houses and warehouses are packed into its compact centre and sit along beautiful canals and public squares.

Its truly is a beautiful city oozing with history and heritage and is not too far from Hamburg which is another great place to see.

Lubeck still has that local , traditional, provincial city feel that is very refreshing after some of the bigger main destinations.

I would very much recommend. Maybe research it a little.
