Proper outfits for Barcelona and Rome

I'll be visiting Barcelona and Rome in mid April. I've heard that people don't walk around with sneakers. What is the dress code in there? What would be comfortable yet stylish?? Thanks.

dress code? right. just wear what you want.

Black is the color of all the younger people in most all the big cities in Europe. Black coats, black pants, black shirts and black boots or shoes.

Hi,

I am doing an internship in Barcelona and believe me, don´t worry about dress codes.
It´s a very multicultural city, there are people from all over the world!
which means: a lot of different styles as well.

Just wear what you like and what you want, something that suits the weather at that moment. April is one of the best periods of the year to visit the Catalan Capital!

Do you already know what to do and what to see while your visiting Barcelona? If you need any advice, tips or information, I would be happy to help you!

Enjoy your stay!

Wear whatever you're comfortable in, nobody cares too much. Like OHCarlos said, it's a very cosmopolitan city with all sorts thrown in. Enjoy your trip!

THank you guys for the advice. OK. I'll wear what I'm comfortable in. OHCarlos.. how is your Spanish doing? We're planning to visit Sagrada Familia, Ramblas so far. We'll be going to Vatican City for a couple of days also. I know that there's a dress code to enter the Vatican.

Hi!

Working and living in a Spanish environment learns you to understand Spanish pretty fast!
There is lot´s to improve though, but I just really like to try it and that´s the way of learning.

Cool, Las Ramblas is great, I´m coming there pretty often and I keep enjoying it every time.
And of course, the Sagrada Familia is a must-see.
If you have time left, I can recommend you the Ciutadella Parc and Montjuïc. I love spending time over there.
In April there s a great chance that the weather is hot, so you might like to go the beautiful beaches of Barcelona.

Enjoy!

Sure. Trying and not being afraid to ask questions about certain words and their pronunciation.
I'm going to check the Ciutadella Parc and Montjuic. Thanks for the tip.
Not sure if we'll have time for the beach... we'll be there for just a few days and there's a lot to visit.
Oh... you mentioned that it might get hot in April.. any idea of the temps?? Thanks. Susy

Hopefully the weather will be hot yes! However, there´s nothing that changable as the weather!

Of course I can´t assure you anything, but especially in mid or late April there is a good chance the weather will be perfect for chilling out at the beach and taking a paddle. (I think a swimm might be a bit too positive)
Temperatures in March sometimes run up till 20 degrees, so with a bit of luck we will be relaxing at the beach with approximately 25 degrees in April

I don´t know from which country you are, but to me it sounds very good and I really look forward to these temperatures! Have fun!
