Adding Map to Blog

I am currently testing the service and I am trying to add the travel map to the blog that i created. However when i view the blog, the map does not show. I looked at the FAQ and tried to follow the steps, but they seem different. I couldn't quite follow. Any help would be highly appreciated.

I see a map in the header of your blog, showing the north of New Zealand's North Island, with two stops and a line between them. If that doesn't show for you (rather than you having already figured it out in the last 15 minutes) it might be because you're blocking the google maps JavaScript which is necessary to load it (maybe due to a privacy- or security-enhancing extension like NoScript?)

I also see two blog entries each with a link to a specific stop on your map. I'm not certain why those are links rather than maps in their own right. That might be by design (loading many maps on the same page is very heavy, so maybe when you have a map header, maps in a post are reduced to links?), or something weird might be happening there. One of the admins, more up to date with the current version of the maps, would have to confirm.

Yes, i had to fiddle with the Blog Settings that allowed me to show trip map on every page. The instructions on the FAQ seems to be little off or maybe I was not understanding it properly. And with the matching dates, it should automatically show the map too i believe. But as you noticed, it only showed the links. Which is rather odd. Thanks for the suggestions!

We only show links to the maps in the blog entry when the dates match.

You can however still embed a map inside the entry as well if you like - just use the little map icon when composing a blog entry. You will be able to select the zoom level and centering position of the map you embed. And you can stick it anywhere in your blog entry; it doesn't have to be at the top.
