Just want to warn everyone that there is an issue with luggage theft on Eurostar trains to Brussels. I had my luggage stolen from the luggage rack in the carriage I was sitting in a couple of weeks ago. The train stops at Lille and there is no security at the station. According to the Belgian police it is a common problem but one that Eurostar are denying (though since they have no incident reporting procedures they had to admit to me they couldn't tell the extent of the problem). So if you do travel on that service please keep an eye on your bags at all times.
This is so common all over the world that I always secure my luggage with a cable lock now. It's good enough to stop all crimes of opportunity.
