India does have a good rail service as well as buses where the trains do not go. Taxi or auto-rickshaw are available too for not too much money, if you haggle.
The distance between Haldwani to Bageshwar is 155km and since its a hilly area you may face issues in the rainy seasons like Land slide, Cloud Burst etc. Its advisable to look out for Taxi or Bus service. You may not find autos for long routes. The roadways buses are quite risky, hence prefer Taxi instead of Bus, prefer bus only if you feel its worth taking the risk.
