Budapest-Bratislava-Krakow-Kosice-Timisoara-Belgrad 14days

Hi I am travelling from september 4 to september 17. I arrive by plane from Canada in Budapest and leave from there too.

Hi there,
I was in Romania/Bulgaria this summer. If you have to choose between Cluj Napoca and Timisoara, go with the first. It is a city worth seeing and spending a day, then if you want to head towards Belgrade drive through the Apuseni mountains, the nature is amazing. Personally, I wasn't very impressed with Timisoara, I spent three days there and was eventually bored, the city center is not big and there are no other big attractions in proximity (or I missed them!).
As to Bucharest, it is worth the visit as well, many places to see but I wouldn't spend more than a day (I just had to choose the main sites and it goes fast).
Hope you enjoy!

Hi.

It is not worth to go to Katowice. Just go stright to Krakow and stay there one night more, go to Wieliczka Salt Mine instead. It is close to Krakow and really worth visiting.

There is rather nothing to do and see in Katowice, as it is former industrial city.

Have a great trip!

Bratislava, is actually pretty nice, but as a visitor, you will have seen the place in about 3 hours. So with the 3 hour drive from Budapest, you will have some time to spare on that day. (one option would be to make a stop in Gyor, about half way.)

I assume you won't have a car to do this trip, so take in consideration many hours spent on trains or bus, which are not very fast in eastern Eu.
Brno (I lived there 3 years) and Ostrava aren't anything special to see in half day, maybe better to enjoy during the night.
Same for katowice (industrial city), while krakow is very beautiful (more than budapest in my opinion).
Cluji is much better than timisoara.
From belgrade there is a night train to budapest at very good price, just a small advise, ask the hotel/hostel registration and keep it with you cause policemen are seeking for bribes on the train, also be careful with thieves in the night train dont leave any bags far from you.

If you want to visit one city among sofia, sarajevo and bucharest, go for sarajevo.
