Hi!
I did all this last year in 4 weeks!! There is so much that is amazing!
In Melbourne you can do the penguin parade and great ocean road, aswell as the touristy neighbours thing! I forget the name but there is a really high view which is pretty awesome for pics!
We went to the Hunter Valleys vineyards outside of Newcastle which was terrific. We found Noosa was really good for whale watching and got some really decent pics. Australia Zoo (Brisbane) is also a really good shout off close ups with all sorts of animals ( you can also do this in the nature zoo in Cairns but with a smaller variety of animals)
The Whitsundays was my highlight and we paid for quite an expensive day trip with snorkelling and BBQ and unlimited alcohol!! Though be warned from rainbow beach to whitsundays on the greyhound is painful and you could probably do with the stop off at 1770 which is meant tone lush!!
Also we bought a ten night dorm base in base and base affiliate hostels which was a pretty good money saver!!
Enjoy!!
