Travel advice for a student please???

rastacourage has indicated that this thread is about Barcelona

What's the cheaper alternative? Flying direct a few days later to Budapest instead?

In any case I think it's a question only you can answer because it's all about budget and no one knows your budget better than you do.

Have fun.

Cheers,
Terry

In my opinion, 4 days in Barcelona is a must at east. Unless you are just trying to collect passport stamps. But, you will know if you can afford it and still do all the other things that you want to on your budget.

Have fun!

Plenty of people see Barcelona for one day while on a cruise, that's what I did, and you can still see the sights. You have that plus a couple of evenings.

With limited time it's just more important to research in advance so you can hit the ground running and spend your time on your must-sees.

DO IT!

I only went for 2days last year, I would have loved to stay longer, but it is amazing. no one can explain in words. the sights are incredible and night life is pretty great as well. I would defiantly recommend doing it. You can always make more money don't worry about the extra $$ because it will be well worth it!

I am meeting some friends in Europe this summer, literally the minute I finish the semester.

Here lies my problem. The earliest I can fly out to Barcelona is the 9th- arriving the 10th. My friends are leaving for Budapest on the 12th. I REALLY would love to go to Barcelona, but it seems that it is going to cost me a couple extra hundred bucks, as well as I'll be lucky to be there for 2 days.

My question is: would you say Barcelona is worth going to even for such a short time, along with the extra $$ ill be spending and hecticness of finishing finals and hopping on a plane?

I am presuming you are flying red-eye form the US so you will be shattered when you get to Barcelona,

Skip it & fly to Budapest on the 9th & get settled a bit & give yourself a breather.

Barcelona is not going anywhere anytime soon & deserves you being awake when seeing it. When you do eventually get to there, take in as much Gaudi as you can stomach - priceless.

Steve

Budapest is also a fantastic city (my favourite in Europe). Not sure how much time you have planned there with your friends, but I'd also consider just adding an extra day or two onto that at the start.

I'm not one for rushing things, so I'd be inclined to save Barcelona for another day.
