Edge of the world

Hi my fellow travellers!

I would suggest...

1.) Start with the easiest "foreign" destination on the planet - Thailand - where there's a very extensive infrastructure and safety net for first time travellers and where it's easy to travel cheaply and be surrounded by other new travellers same as yourself. There's also lots of cheap/easy countries nearby that are easy to get to, as well as major transport hubs to jump out of SE Asia and onward.

2. Leave places like the Indian Subcontinent and Africa (both fascinating destinations) until later in your trip when you're a bit more experienced.

3.) Don't forget Central/South America... loads of cool, inexpensive places there too.

4.) You're from Switzerland so leave so-called developed countries off your travel list until you're tired of the real world and need a taste of so-called civilization just like home.

Lastly, why do you have to look for an end point? When it comes you will know. For many people the end point never happens.

Good luck and have fun.

Cheers,
Terry

I'd say you're starting point would be Switzerland .....

You're ending point is when you're dead.
As for seeing the edge of the world? You will see it at many times during your travels...
Trust me on this, you will know it when you see it....

Also I agree with CheersT as for Thailand. It is a good place to get your feet wet..

Hi Guys

Thank you for your replies!

As a matter of fact i have already "travelled" Thailand.. well it was only for three weeks but i've seen a lot of the country and i wanted to start somewhere different.

I was planning on waiting to travel "harder" destinations like CheersT mentioned (Africa, India..).
I actually have never thought about starting my journey in Switzerland but the idea does in fact seem pretty good. Well i have a lot of thinking to do until i go..

Thank you for your support!
