I was in Greece 6 times in the last 4 years and i can say the food has become more expensive than it used to be, but it's still cheap for european standards. Local markets are in general cheaper than supermarkets and offer a great variety of vegetables and fruits. I don't eat meat so i can't give you information concerning that, but it should be affordable. Sithonia and the rest of Halkidiki are cheaper than the islands or Athens. If you buy your groceries and cook you can save some money but in general eating out can be done for a reasonable price too (a souvlaki for example costs around 2€, and a decent meal in a cheap/average restaurant 4-10€).
