I snorkeled GBR end of June with Quiksilver and had no issues. In fact the thought didn't even cross my mind.
If you are still very concerned call the snorkeling companies, they'll know for certain.

The jellyfish season in Queensland is supposed to be from October to May.
I snorkelled in August 2005 on Great Barrier without any problem (and without protection).
I don't know about Western Australia, note sure there are box jellyfish there.
