Please help with first time Europe traveler!

Hi all,

Hey
For 40 days you will be able to fit in around 2-3 places in each of those 6 countries you've listed, depending on how long you like to stay in locations. Do you know which cities you'd like to see in these places? Your best route is
Germany - Austria - Italy - France - Ireland - UK
It can take a while getting around these countries as Germany and France are by no means small. Also these have the highest populations in Europe so traffic is relatively high. Trains are probably your best option to get around quickly on the small time scale you have to see these places.
As for the 7 other countries you listed, you'll have to at least double your time in Europe (also Israel isn't in Europe).

A mistake a lot of people are doing is rushing through a lot of places only seeing the biggest cities and for short periods of time. You should set some time off to experince the smaller towns and country sides. This is often what makes the countries unique. London, Paris, Rome, Berlin etc are all great and beautiful cities, but they are international metrolpoles, so seeing something else is highly recommended. I love traveling around UK staying at b&b's in small town, getting in contact with the locals at the pub etc.
