traveling in China and local Kung Fu summercamps

Hi,
Here is the official train ticket booking site in China. So far there is no rail pass sold from what I know. You will have to book online and then print the ticket at the train station.

Most of the temples are tourist attractions so it is not difficult to find a place to stay. Just input the key words and then find accommodation on this web site: http://www.elong.net/

If you wish to attend formal Kongfu or Taichi training classes (usually each class takes 3 months), please contact with the organizers ahead of time and find out the details. Shaolin is famous for Kongfu, Wudang is famous for Taichi.

Hope you enjoy the trip.

Dear Lucy,

Thanks a lot for your helpful reply.
It looks like I will need to use internet a lot to find, book and book places and tickets. This is a pity, because I wasn't going to take a laptop or something with me, but if I don't it seems I am going to waste a lot of time, from what you wirte.
Could you advise some Shaolin camp ? We won't be able to stay longer than 2 weeks, but maybe it could be arranged.
Anyway thanks again. If we get to Shanghai, I'll let you know, but so far our plan was to get out of the big cities.

Thanks again

Pat

Hi, Pat:

I am travelling in Southern American country right now. I can only search for the information about Shaolin camp online, there is no way to tell these camps are good ones or not. Please search shaolin gong fu on google or baidu, you will get lots of information.
You can buy train tickets at the train station, too.
If you wish to have more help, I can recommend my friend who is working for travel service in Shanghai, she can help with arrangement all over China. she also has last minute prices on different tour route.

Please feel free to contact me when you need more information.

Lucy

thanks a lot, Lucy,

Enjoy your trip

Pat
