travelling to sydney

First time travelling n going it alone. Goin thailand first on an organised trip. Then on to sydney in December. So excited but nervous at same time. Anyone got any advice

My advice is: There is no reason whatsoever to be nervous.

You're going to a country that speaks the very same language, watches mostly the very same movies, listens to mostly the very same music, eats mostly the very same food, wears mostly the very same clothes, etc...

In other words you're not going to the Indian Subcontinent or Africa. Australia is not an exotic or intimidating or difficult destination in the slightest. It's a super easy place to travel and just different enough to be really cool and fun for a first time nervous traveller.

Bottom line: Relax and have a gas.

Cheers,
Terry

One other thing... Thailand is arguably the easiest "foreign" destination on the planet for independent travellers/backpackers so on your organized tour you're going to see how easy it would have been to travel solo.

Australia will be a walk in the park.

Have fun!

Cheers,
Terry

Thanks for the advice. Does anyone know is it goin to be easy to get a job in sydney. Anyone goin to be in Sydney in December? ?

In December it's going to be hard to find a job. Everything is winding down for the holidays, while those jobs which need extra help during that time will have recruited for it around October. In January it should start to pick up again (though it depends on type of work how swiftly that'll be). In general experiences with finding work vary wildly; we get reports here from people who found work within hours, and others who've had to go home because after weeks of searching they ran out of money without any prospect of a job.
Sydney, as the largest Australian city, has a lot of opportunities, but also a lot of competition, particularly in backpacker-friendly fields, as there's a never-ending influx of new backpackers arriving. So it really depends on your own skillset and attitude. General advice tends to be to head out of the city, though; Sydney's rather expensive to live in on a backpacker budget.

Thanks for that we'll tbh il see a bit of Sydney then travel so maybe not work there anyway. I preferably want to get work on a farm is this easy to get...

Just pack yourself up and leave for the trip.Just don't worry about anything and go with the flow

Hi,
One of the best ways to see the sights in Sydney,Australia is to take the Sydney Ferry. By travelling on it we can ride around the Sydney Harbour and to the Parramatta River. There are also many places to visit here including the Sydney Olympic Park and the Taronga Zoo.
