I'll be in Sicily for only 4 nights--would like to hear about favorite areas to focus on (we want to stay in one area and explore from there).
Syracuse is a must! There is a lot of architectural monuments in the city, not to mention Ortygia - a small island inside the city. Palermo is also a good option, although you need at least one day to explore it. If you want to travel a lot consider renting a car as trains are rather expensive there.
