In August, you can easily visit the north of these countries: Iguazu, Salta and surroundings in North Argentina, Arica and San Pedro de Atacama in North Chile. For the rest, it's just winter! And it is colder and colder (and windy) when you go South.
Buesnos Aires with cold and rain ! Patagonia as a winter expedition . Better wait October to go there!!
