With accommodation paid for what's left to buy? Do you pay for meals? Many young backpackers and thrift travelers find away to pay for hotel, food and some entertainment with a similar amount of money. But this is a 600 - 1000 baht hotel room. (This price range is easy to find in Bangkok even with A/C and usually private toilet.)
Even though Phuket is the most expensive city in Thailand you should be able to find cheap meals. Where you will blow your budget is buying your meals in expensive restaurants and drinking in expensive nightclubs. Not to mention tipping lavishly in bars.
Find a supermarket. Pick up some stuff to eat in your room. I personally can survive on fried rice which is not that expensive from small Thai restaurants. You can pick up beer in Seven Eleven stores and supermarkets cheaper than nightclubs or beer bars. You might have some expense for transportation. But it depends on how far your training facility is from where you want to head for.
(Bangkok is cheaper than Phuket. Transportation in Bangkok is pretty good with meter taxis, overhead rail service and cheap buses. Phuket not as good. Perhaps your training company in Phuket has free transportation.)
There are some links you can Google up for a look at for the approximate cost of miscellaneous items in Phuket.
Sample:
Pace yourself. See how your funds hold up for the first week or so. I would have no problem with 2500 baht a day. But I am a natural born Cheap Charlie! If you can do okay for the same amount of money in your hometown you should be okay in Phuket. But if money flows through your hands like water - Thailand will not be any different!
FYI Cheap Charlie used to be a cheap place to stay at in Phuket, but not that many good reviews. Don't know if Cheap Charlie is still open. Google search and forum searches can give you a few cheap places to stay at in Phuket if needed.
Good luck.
