Paris has so much to see. I enjoy Paris immensely every time that I go there. I would definitely try their creperies while there. They have so many good ones and there is even a section in Paris where there are many creperies located close together. One that I really enjoy is "Creperie de Josselin". Also, if you like souffles, then try "Le Souffle a Paris". They will require reservations.
I find the easiest way to get around is to use the Paris Metro. It is the fastest and easiest way to get around. I would definitely have a google map. Any guide books could help. A lot depends on your interests. Try surfing the web to find things that interest you. The possibilities are endless.

Paris should be visited in 3 ways:
- an organized way
for which a Map/guide is very useful : look at the places you want to go, selec those.
then plot those on a map, and organize per geographical zone
the best sits on top, then you stop when you are fed-up / late.
- a disorganized way
being lost in Paris is just great.
- daytrips can be organized
like Versailles, or Provins but I'd limit myself at one daytrip for a first visit.
For food, there are close to 20 000 restaurants in Paris, there are guides (parisbymouth ?) :
- and check the menu which is always outside of the restaurant.
I have been in about 100 restaurants in Paris, if you tell me what kind of food you'd like and what budget (roughly) and where, I can give some recs - but they will be according to my tastes only !
