Euro Trip From Netherlands in Eight Days ( December )

Hi All,

Hey euroindays,

To help us better answer your question, please tell us where you are from. Are you from the Netherlands, or are you just beginning your trip there? Thanks

Also, a couple other questions -
a) do you have only 8 days to do the European tour?
b) do you have any places/countries that you must visit this time round?

Yeah, if you would be a bit more specific, it would be easier for us to help you around.

But to begin remind this: in december it isn't that cold in the Netherlands, it can be freezing during the night, but most of the time it isn't during the day...

And... which countries do you want to visit?

Thanks.

Well I'm form Pakistan and Yes I've time constraint. I want to travel by Eurorail and want to spend time in exploring rather then traveling in rail. But i have no issue to travel, Like i want to see Munich, Paris, Switzerland but i heard it is quite far. i never been to Europe so i don't know how long it would take to reach neighboring countries. I'm looking for fun

I'll be arriving in Amsterdam and want your opinion which country i can visit in such a short time.

I'll be thankful if you guy's can put your time & efforts in making trip wonderful.

Cheers

If your time constraint is 8 days, I wouldn't suggest too many places or you'll end up not being able to see/do much. I also think that getting an Eurail pass will not be worth it.

A realistic trip would be Netherlands-Belgium-France (i.e. Amsterdam-Brussels-Paris).

Brussels is just under 3 hours from Amsterdam by either Thalys or Intercity, whereas Paris is just over 4 hours from Amsterdam by Thalys. Between Paris and Brussels, the journey takes about 1.5 hours by Thalys.

So for the 8 days, spend about 3-4 days in Paris, 1-2 days in Brussels, and the remainder in Amsterdam.

If you have only 8 days, why don't you spend them all in the Netherlands? Surely there's enough to visit even during winter for 8 days. There are those where you can do day trips (such as Delft, Leiden, Haarlem, Utrecht etc) and then maybe 2 days each for the more 'famous' ones (Amsterdam, Rotterdam etc). The Netherlands has a pretty good transport system, you won't have much trouble getting around.

Thanks, yours and Lil_Lill provided a good ideas. I'm pretty sure i can merge them both . Also spent some time in some places you have mention and also to see Paris & Brussels.

Thanks
