Kuala lumpur

Look I am sorry to join your site just for this

A post with feeling.
I have done K.L. too. No problems with Indians for me, but terrible tummy upset. The food for me was terrible.
More advice from another old man.

I liked KL a lot actually. And the food I had was probably amongst the best I've ever tasted. In 10 days in Malaysia I did really manage to eat myself silly

Logen,

So sorry that you seem to have had a bad experience with taxi drivers. You have not explained fully that happened with you.
However you can not generalise the city KL and all Indians there, i hope. In every country there are both bad and good taxi drivers. In London the taxi driver was not polite atall and was a kind of a rude guy but the next taxi driver was very kind.
It all happens everywhere.
KL is a nice and a beautiful place.

Hope your next visit would be a pleasant one.

All the best.

I really don't like generalizations about any particular people.. There are always going to be good and bad- and coming across the wrong ones unfortunately will always bias your opinion and paint a whole group unfairly...

I am not a huge fan of big, smelly, busy, Asian cities with too much traffic...
So KL is not my favorite, compared to some other incredible places in Malaysia or SE Asia...
But I do second that the food is pretty good....

KL isn't my favourite city but I didn't experience any unpleasantness there from anyone particularly. And like other posters I did enjoy at least one particularly good meal.

I was in K.L. last june which was the first time for twenty years and I thought it was great. I'm going back to Malaysia and S.E. Asia generally in december. I live most of the time in India and the contrast between the quiet, polite , helpful Malays and the persistant touts , queue jumpers and general dishonesty of the Indians connected with the tourist trade was like a breath of fresh air. But whenever I leave India I miss it.

I live in Kuala Lumpur and am a Malaysian. I do get fleeced too, sometimes. But then, it happens everywhere. So, let us not be judgemental!

I was in Malaysia for 12 days, nearly half of them was spent in KL.

Not to mention, I did not experience anything like that. And the food was delicious.
Everywhere ppl are both good and bad. Rather in Malaysia people were quite friendly, they helped/ guided us in spite of language barrier.
