Your trip sounds fun. I found April to be a good month to check out Oregon, though you will find some rain. I can help out for some attractions along the way. Along the coast check out Cape Blanco, one of my fav's. Cape Arago has cool wildlife viewing (seals, whales, birds etc.) Eat great homemade food at the Otis Cafe, in Otis. It's just north of Lincoln City on Hwy 18. There's plenty of day hikes along the whole coast, or on the ocean itself. In Portland, check out Powell's books (if you like to read). Multnomah falls is cool, be sure to hike to the top of them, well worth it. There are some hot springs in the Cascades if you dig hot natural pools, find them on the internet. For a trip like this one, I'd take at least a week.
