Full moon party!

Right, at the risk at sounding stupid, here we go!

I've only flown out of Koh Samui (twice,2006(to Pattaya) and 2007(to Phuket)) with Bangkok Airways. If I'm not mistaken this was the only airline that flew in and out of KS. Check out their website for timetable. Make sure you check whether the domestic flight departs from BKK international airport or from Don Muang(you'll need to transfer by taxi). If your intending to arrive in BKK and then fly to KS same day I suggest you have your domestic flight prebooked. KS airport is not far from the ferry pier (Bophut Pier-Haad Rin) to Koh Phangan. I have copied the ferry timetable from a website in the past (suggest 'ferry timetable koh samui koh phangan'). Unfortunately, I didn't get there both my trips to KS. Good luck and safe travels.

Cool, cheers mate!

So i would need to get a flight from BKK to Koh Samui then ferry to Koh phangan??

I reckon could be a big ask, esp if just arriving, jet lag, hangover etc!!

Hmmm

Flights leave almost every hour from Bangkok to koh samui, you can also take a train or bus from bangkok to a couple of cities where you can catch transport to koh samui and even Koh phangan. Flying is the most direct and fastest way. When you land in Koh samui you want to make your way over to big budah pier that is wher you can get a ferry to koh phangan. It only costs about 200b. the ferry at big budah will take you directly to Had rin (full moon party)

Mitchwell, hangover aside, your not going to suffer jet lag flying from BKK to KS. Exit KS airport, get yourself over to the big buddha pier (as stated)(probably 10-15 mins.). Ferry over to Koh Phangan doesn't take all that long either. I'd prefer to get to KP asap and check in to my accom. Then have a kip if that's what's needed to recharge the batteries (because your not going to get much sleep). Would also recommend having your accom. prebooked if on a budget otherwise you could be looking at crashing on the beach or something fairly expensive. I have not attended a full moon party (fortunately my age difference has kept me at bay as well as saving me from a massive hangover) but I have read numerous blogs by those who have attended.

True stoneman...think am going to just do it!!!
