I am leaving next week for a 2 month trip around the Middle East. I've been reading lots about how to dress appropriately on some travel websites, but I am wondering if there is anyone on this forum who can share some personal experiences/information with me. I am travelling through Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Turkey. Thanks :-)

There are two styles that work well.
One is long pants with a long shirt (often with long sleeves) that covers your bum and the other is an ankle-length wide skirt with a loose-fitting men's t-shirt.
In Turkey I would go for the pants, in Egypt and Jordan the skirt works better. Both are ok.
I personally like to wear shirts like this one:

I usually combine this with a top underneath and loose-fitting, ankle-length pants in a matching color.
Skirts and shirt should be in this style:

(without the jacket but with half-length sleeves)

(the skirt is a bit short, it does not go down to the ankles and the top could use a little bit less clevage)
Do not bother with a headscarf, since you are not muslim it will just make you look stupid. What you can bring or buy is a long wide cotton scarf to cover your upper body against sun burn, the chill from air condition and if you need to cover yourself when visiting a mosque or so. You can let it hang around your shoulders.
I'm muslim myself and have travelled almost all over the Middle East.
