Im looking at flights to South America and these 2 airlines keep coming up with the cheapest prices. However their reviews have been pretty shocking.
So has anyone flown long distance with either of these airlines?
I've done Iberia twice, and both times I vowed "never again". First time was even business class (amsterdam - madrid - lima), and yes, that was atrocious to such a degree that I made that vow. (Apparently there was a strike at madrid from the catering or something, but even so it was shameful.) Service was extremely lackluster, food atrocious, chairs bad, plane very old, and everything just uninspired...
I guess given the right impetus, I would probably end up flying Iberia a third time (and hate it once more), but I'd gladly pay 20-30% more to avoid having that mispleasure.

Where is your departure point? I'm guessing Britain, yes?
Ive just flown with Iberia from Colombia - Madrid, and as an often British Airways flier, i would say Iberia didnt compare!
The staff didnt seem to have that much interest in communicating with the customers, inflight entertainment was a shame to say the least! ... the only positive thing to come from the flight was that i scored an exit seat.
Seems their cheap prices are not worth it then from what i have been hearing.
Guess i will be better off paying the extra £100 to £200 with a decent airline
