I went through some of the forum posting and most were difficult to understand b/c I don't know a lot about cameras. I would like a compact lightweight camera for backpacking that takes a nice quality photo so that I can potentially make a few dollars selling the photos to Shutterstock for some extra travel cash. What is my best bet?
Anything that's above 6mpx will deliver good shots. Nowadays it's possible to buy 10mpx and more for a snip of the prices they used to be.
Best bet is to buy one with a 14 day money back, no questions asked, returns promise. Try it out and see how you get on. The list of cameras these days, is endless.
Would suggest one that takes AA batteries if there's a choice - and easy to handle.
Maybe you've been using something that's already good enough for what you want.
If you want a specific models, I suggest you check this article out:
DPreview maybe comprehensive in its terminology and all, but I would suggest you pick a model based on your budget and how much you understand on it's operation.
