you are welcome to jordan and to my best place petra
in Amman airport they dont have a shuttle busstraight..
and you must to fo to amman first and then to petra .
from amman airport u can just take a taxi to petra .
so you have option :
if you enter Amman airport in day time u can take the bus to amman and then to petra .
if you enter Amman airport in night time you have to go to amman and stay in hotel till morning and then by bus to petra .
I hired a driver from Amman down to Petra, stopping at Madaba, Karak Castle and Mt Nebo on the way down. It was great value and all 3 of those places are well worth visiting. Send me a PM if you would like details of the taxi driver we used as he was a lovely guy and I'd highly recommend him to anyone.
when you want to visit Petra from Amman you have two options :
1 - from amman to petra ( desert road ) norhing interesting in the road .
2 - from amman stopping at :
A - Madaba ( "the mosaic city )
B - Mount Nebo
C - Baptism in the Jordan River
D - Dead sea
E - Karak Castle
F - and then Petra
