I'm 22/USA and I would like to travel/volunteer (preferably clinic-related/children/womens issues) in Peru from end of June to end of July. Then travel to Bolivia/Argentina/Brazil for three weeks in August.
I will be in Peru either from middle of June (11) to the 19th or so, or after July 8th depending on some travel logistics.
I really want to do Machu Picchu during this time, would you be interested? I'm 22/USA, graduating college in December.
Let me know if you think you'd be around these parts in these dates...

Are you independently arranging your own travels? If you are not and interested to know, I volunteered in Sri Lanka through Projects Abroad. I was able to teach and spend fun and memorable times with the children at the tsunami camps and at the same traveled with fellow volunteers during the weekends. One advantage of going through an organization is that you get to meet plenty of like-minded fellow volunteers and also you are guaranteed support of the local staff if anything goes wrong. I lived with a local host family during my placement and it's a great and unique opportunity to soak up with the culture and live in a foreign country just like a local. I believed they have set up projects in Bolivia, Argentina and Brazil and whole loads more of destinations you can choose from.

Sorry for the late reply. I will be arriving in Lima, Peru on June 30 and leaving August 17. I am planning on volunteering with Carismaperu ($430/4wks) and then I'll have roughly around 2 wks to travel around Peru (probably Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, Lima, Cusco)
