I have the possibility of a stop over from London to Melbourne in Qatar. I was thinking of staying for a few days. First, is it safe/ enjoyable for a solo female traveller in Qatar. Is it worth it to stay for a few days? Is Qatar at all tourist friendly? Is Qatar at all cheap?
I will take this lack of replies as a hint not to travel to Qatar. After researching a bit I haven't found much, so good luck if you decide to travel there!

Sorry to see you didn't get a reply here, but you could try on another forum like on Lonely Planet. There might be more travellers over there that have been there.
Seems that Doha and the corniche, and an overnight trip into the desert are worth it if you like

as mentioned above, there is not much to do in qatar , except for probably desert safari or may be dow cruise boat dinner ....

I went to Doha last Jan 2010. It all depends on what you are looking for. If you're looking for tourists sites, then well most probably it is not that much. But what I love the most from Doha is souk waqif..you shud visit it
