Making Money whilst Travelling

Hi,

Hey Antonio,

I am also currently traveling around the world with my husband. This is a worry for everyone. My husband is a web designer, so luckily he can make money through that. Here's my suggestions.

1. Car boot sales, before you go away. Get rid of all your junk-for some reason other people like to buy your junk at a car boot. I made over 400 GBP from car boots...and i dont miss the stuff onebit.

2. Sell things on ebay

3. If you are good with IT and computers...web design...selling ebooks....

4. Write a travel blog-and make money from adverts, sign up for free at -snip- You can get commisions-for advertising products or services on your wesite.

5. Many cafe's and bars take staff on around asia-it helps increase business

6. In new Zealand you can take many jobs-working in hostels and bars ect

Hope this helps a little...

Ruth

Hi Antonio703,
Travelling abroad can be an expensive proposition. Apart from your fare you need to allow for accommodation, meals and all the other things you’re likely to buy, which means the bills can soar very quickly, especially if you’re going for any length of time. The answer is by working whilst you’re abroad. That way you can earn money while travelling alone, pay your way, But it’s a way to make the most of your travelling time, have plenty of new experiences and meet new people – as well as pay for your trip.

Thanks....

HI,

thanks for replies...we started doing car boots back last year when we decided this is what we were going to do. your so right once you look for things to sell its amazing how much junk you find!

in asia is it cash in hand work in these bars or do you have to get a working visa? i would love to get some cash in hand work in some parts if that is possible just part time to keep me ticking over whilst we go round.

Antonio

You would check into WOOFing. WOOF is an organization that allows people to work on farms in other countries (currently my friend is backpacking around Europe and he's spending some time in Hungry WOOFing). I can't recall if its all volunteer work in exchange for boarding and food or if you get paid for your work, but it may be of some intrest to you.

Re post #2

How does the adverts on a travel blog work? Do you approach companies directly to see if they want advertising space on a blog? Also how much can you realistically expect to earn - does it work on a pence / cents per click basis, a flat fee or...?

Thanks

Hey Antonio... when in africa see if you can swap your services for accomodation..... often places will let you stay if you do some cleaning or something like that... also, haggle!

If you play a musical instrument maybe you can go busking?

Maybe I should learn one...
