South East Asia Budget

Hi Everyone!

what countries are go going to visit? because it depends on how much you are travelling around in each country, Im doing a similar trip too in about 6 months want to spend about 2/3 months in SE Asia. And i'm going to plan about £500 a month for accomm/food etc and then an extra £100-200 a month for travelling from place to place in countries.

That budget is very sufficient (room, food, transport) for all the countries in South East Asia except Singapore. Don't stay there long is the key.

On top, any less will be a tight budget. Besides, you would want to do some activities too and activities are expensive. Avoid flying, take bus/train.

Thanks for your help both of you!

dlovallo1, I forgot to put that actually.

The countries i am visiting in SEA are:

Malaysia - 15 Days
Thailand - 60 Days
Laos - 15 Days
Cambodia - 15 Days
Vietnam - 30 Days

You are on a real tight budget. May be it depends on where you stay and what you are doing.

£20 a day is fine! The only place it might be a bit tight is in Malaysia...

yeah I found Malaysia to be a fair bit more expensive then the other countries on your list, but you will make that money up in Laos as it is dirt cheap.
happy traveling!

Yes, Malaysia I would say would be the most costly place that you will be travelling to on your list. However if you choose to take public transport, such as buses and trains rather than flying, this will help bring down the cost of your stay here.

I would suggest for all countries listed that you buy your food from small hawker stalls / locally run restaurants as this will keep your food bills to a minimum. Plus also I found that they all served the most delicious foods!
