hey laura im going out to cairns in august and working my way into sydney and if i find work im going to go to bangkok on my way back. my friend went and she said that its a lot better to do oz before se asia so fingers crossed. when are you going to be getting ito oz for and where abouts you going?

Im aiming to go after I graduate at end of july/beginning of august. Thinkin of flying to sydney then no set plans as to where im going. I want to see as much as possible but will be working along the way so will depend on what jobs i get. Definately want to go over to the Gold Coast and to Melbourne.
Did ur friend work in Aus? Im hoping work wont be too difficult to find but im apprehensive.

cool! yea she done a little work in sydney i think. she said same as everyone else if you get of your backside and look for it your get it if you dont then you wont just gotta put your cv about and it will come!

Im landing in Sydney in July 2011.
Plan to work there for a while and get some money so I can travel up the East coast (Byron Bay,Brisbane etc...up to Cairns)
Not sure whether to book a arrival package or not as Im on my own?
Have you guys sorted anything for deffo?

I dont have anything booked yet: sorting it this month. I think I am flying to Sydney aswel then prob be doing a very similar route.
From what I have heard the arrival packages are over priced but they do give u the security so understandable to consider if ur on your own. I dont think I will do one jus to save money bt im quite scared at going it alone

Yeah lots say it's good for the arrival but I spose it depends on the traveller!
I don't really want to book one because I need as much money as poss but I am rather scared of landing in Sydney alone!!
Yeah, so Im going alone, are you? Im going for around 9 months/I have a WHV so I might just end up staying for a year-depends how much I like it, I am heading to USA after so we shall see!! :D

I noooo. Yeh think it does just depend. My only issue is the money aswel otherwise I would prob do one. I'll just book a hostel before so I no where I am going and work out the transfer when im there- least there is no language barrier to worry about lol.
Thats awesome about USA. I was contemplating going there first but Im going Asia after and wanted to make sure I had enough money for that. Where abouts are u going in USA?
Are u wantin to do seasonal work in aus so u have the opportunity of a 2nd visa? think i am going to jus incase i dont want to go home after asia

Yeah deffo going to do some fruit picking for a second visa! just incase I want to go back too!!
Asia will be fab, Im spending 3 months in south east asia b4 oz. yayyyy! Tan time :D
For America I land in LA and I am travelling over land to NY. I may do camp america there too depending on dates and things!!!
