Me and a few mates drove from wales to sardinia last summer.
Was an incredible experience, but expensive.
Im not sure i can be much help with any routes as we pretty much headed straight down through france, through mont blanc and down to geona.
But if you have any questions ill do my best.

Even just little things like how much of it you can drive, or where you leave your car when climbing mont blanc, just silly little things like that will help lol
