Hey hunie!!
Thats lucky that you think youve got enough money to not work out there!!
Oz is so so expensive!!
I will be in Sydney for christmas too!
http://www.immi.gov.au/visawizard/
Take a look at that link (if it doesnt come up type in immi on google)
I think you will need a tourist visa but it depends on how long your staying for etc. have a look at that and it kind of tells you which to get.
I got mine last night (Working Holiday Visa) and it came through so quickly!!
xx
hey guys. im leaving to cairns on 22nd of august from london. then making my way down the east coast to spends christmas and new years in sydney. i think thats best part to do. how long are you guys planning on staying in oz for?
hi gemmakaye.
well i am hoping i have enuf money to cover everything... saying that i dont know how expensive things are over their, i have checked out hostel prices and they seem ok.
that link was very useful, for my visa would be £65, i am in two minds if i should get a working holiday visa just incase i do need to work or not hmmmm.
when are you going out their?
Hopefully see you out their in sydney!!
xx
hi orpheus.
im planning on going upto six months.
think i will be starting in cairns but arent 100% yet.
I would seriously think about purchasing a working one. The thing is you need to have at least £3500 of your own money if you would like the working one, I paid round about £250 for mine but it was through a trusted working visa website. After purchasing this it only took about 12 hours to get approved, which is pretty good. It might be a little chunk to start with but you will be able to earn that back in no time at all.
I am heading out to Sydney on the 10th of March and will be meeting my friend out there at a later date. We shall hopefully be out there for 8-12 months traveling and working.
If you are serious about going the thing I would recommend is that you book in advance somewhere to stay for the first week at least, I would suggest somewhere with a good recommendation ( it might be pricey but it give you reassurance that you are in a safe place ). It will give you time to look around for somewhere cheaper and well maintained.
Also if you are traveling on your own I would suggest in trying to become friends with someone who is like minded and pretty trusting ( easier said then done I know ). Because if you want to go for a swim on the beach and you have your valuables ( i.e passport, money, drivers license etc...) with you, you will need to have someone to look after them but try if you can to see if the place your staying has lockers or something to put them in.
Anyway enjoy your trip as I am sure it will be absolutely awesome!
Scott.
