Im from northern ireland and hold an irish passport but the section when it asks nationality of passport holder ive stated ireland instead of british?
Irish nationality extends to those born in Northern Ireland, so presumably your Irish passport indicates you're an Irish citizen? If so, that one isn't an issue - you are likely both British and Irish.
I sincerely doubt this will cause you any problems. Just be sure to take the passport that matches the passport number you entered when applying for the visa
