I'm off to Thailand in a couple of months for 6 weeks, but just wanted some advice on how much money to take. Would 1000 THB be enough for 6 weeks? That would need to do me for food, accommodation etc. I'm planning on staying in mostly hostels. The only time I'll be staying in a nice hotel will most likely be during a full moon party. All travel will be done on trains etc too, no planes.
1000 THB for six weeks or a day!?!?!?!? you should be able to get away with 1000 a day, but you may miss out on some things due to your budget.

I am assuming you meant 1K GBP. I think in USD and you should figure $30/day as a rock bottom figure. Or about $1K a month. That is cheap fan rooms, eat with the local, no booze and not many tours. That is tough to do for a month. You could last 6 weeks with 1K GBP, but it would the same as above. Living frugally the whole time you are there. I would try to save more money for your 6 weeks.

My friend , 1000 THB per day are no t enough.Because you need 300-400 thb per day for gest house, 100thb for local food, 150 for drinks ,and 100 for super market.So you dont have any money for fun and transfers.Make your 6 weeks 5 or 4 and you will be super!!!
Sorry I miss-typed my post! I have £1000 for 6 weeks in Thailand, which is around 46,435 THB. I'm guessing this would be enough? Maybe too much?

Yes, if you sleep in guesthouses, take trains and local buses, and eat where the locals eat then this amount will actually seem like a lot.
As an example, you can find clean and secure guesthouses for between 200-300 THB per night.
A meal in a market or on the street can be around 50 THB.
A train trip 3rd class from Chiang Mai to Bangkok is just a few hundred THB.
I guess it really depends on where you plan to be - if you want to chill on Koh Phi Phi and Railey Beach then no, you won't have enough BUT if you want to be pretty much anywhere else then it is always possible to find affordable options and still have a bit of fun.
