To Cuba from the EU and to USA/ Dual citizenship issues

Greetings everyone, multiple issues I could use some advice on. Would greatly appreciate your help!

Just use your EU passport, for the whole trip. That avoids all your problems.

Hey Madpoet, thanks for your response.

One of my predicaments is that I believe I have to leave the EU with the same passport I entered, therefore I have to leave with the US passport. Also, I have heard it is always best to enter your home country with your home passport.

Do you have experience that contradicts these ideas?

thanks!

I am not legal expertise for above your clarification, but as traveler, No more and no less riskier than any other countries, Cuba is one of the few countries where you are lock your suitcase with a plastic tie or combination lock and shrink wrap it before you go to the airport reducing the risk.

Well, I can't say I have experience in these matters, since I only have one nationality- and passport. But it seems to me that if you are an EU citizen, and have an EU passport, you have the right to use it- to leave the EU. I could be wrong- you should check with the Austrian authorities. That would solve your problem of visiting Cuba, as it is not illegal for EU citizens to do that.

You're probably right, it would be better to enter the U.S. on a U.S. passport- but then you'd have the whole Cuba situation to explain...
