Will be travelling from London to Amsterdan via ferry, then train along the rhine valley to Cologne, then to Paris, then Nice, then Monterosso al Mare, then Venice and finally Rome. Can we do this in 21 days. What difficulties will we experience with the train travel. Will June be a good time?
There is no ferry from London to Amsterdam. There are several ferry companies that advertise Amsterdam as a ferry port from the UK (much as Ryanair state airports in cities they go to - that are in fact miles away somewhere else).
21 days will be more than enough to do this trip - there and back.
You shouldn't have any problems with rail travel en-route. Try and book your tickets in advance to save money though.
thx Bob. Yeah I know we have to take the train to Harwich to catch the ferry. Should we get the global pass on the Eurail? Also how does a Verizon cell phone work in Europe?
You'll have to do some careful calculations comparing the price of the Eurail pass to point-to-point.
Depending upon the route and the trains you take (and the special offers on discounted tickets that you are able to grab) it might be cheaper to use point-to-point.

June will be a good time to go. You won't have any problems with train travel (at least not more than the average European does).
