As I will be a female traveller I was thinking of doing an organised trip whilst in Asia. Has anyone take a good tour and could recommend it? or has anyone taken a tour with intrepid?
Yes, I did the Jakarta to Bali tour just over a year ago. Their itineraries are great and overall they do seem like a good organisation, but we were all really unimpressed with our guide. Several of us voiced our dissatisfaction to Intrepid when asked to give feedback about the tour, and as far as I know none of us recevied a response from them regarding our comments, which I think is very poor. However, a friend of mine did the same Intrepid tour just before me and had a wonderful guide who really made the trip for him. I suppose it's just luck of the draw and most tour companies will probably have the odd bad guide. I would be reluctant to use them again though just in case I got a poor guide again, and then I would be kicking myself for not going with another company. Other similar tour companies you could consider are GAP adventures, Kumuka, Geckos, Explore, Tucan and Exodus. However depending on where you are going you may be best off going it alone. South East Asia for example is very geared up for travellers and there is really no need to do a tour; I'd be happy to do Indonesia independently if I go again.
Malaysia have those multicultural that you can’t find in any others country. The best time
to visit Malaysia is the beginning of December to the end of January. The second peak Season falls in the months of June, July, and August. I recommend these places for you..
i would recommend the 2 week cambodia basix tour then do the rest on your own as you will meet so many people along the way, a great intro to travelling if your worried about doing it on your own, a lot of people regret doing the long tours as there is nto enough freedom so do a short one if i was you.
