but to answer your question, yes there are hotels in the airport compound.
1. the ambassador transit hotel - a relatively cheaper option in the departure transit area at all of the 3 terminals.
2. crowne plaza hotel - a 4-star hotel with very nice ambience
food is everywhere at changi airport - changi airport has everything you'll need for the night. however, u might want to consider just going straight to the hotel u've booked. taxis are easy to get at the airport, and it will cost u about S$40 to get into the city in the wee hrs of the morning. u will have to pay an additional night for your rooms, but if u're going to stay at crowne plaza hotel, u might as well go into town immediately after you get in, so the kids can sleep in a little later in the morning...
