Hi My best friend and i are traveling to USA in May, arrive in Vegas for finals of Supercross 5th-11th then San Fran 11th-13th then New York 13th-17th onto Miami 17th-20th then LA 20th-25th then back to Vegas 25th-27th. We are travelling alone not in tour group and would appreciate any advice on where to go and most especially where not to go????? it's our first overseas travel and its a bit daunting. Also anyone can tell me what weathers like that time of year????

Weather will be great most everywhere that time of year.
Where not to go? When in Las Vegas stay near or on the "strip" and don't venture into any shady areas. When in San Francisco stay in the areas north of Market street, and don't go down Broadway (sleezy strip clubs).
Other than that, you'll be fine.
I'd suggest that in addition to big cities, you should visit some national parks nearby and also some smaller towns known for their "quaintness". Examples of these in California would be Carmel, Cambria, Solvang, and Murphys--or the wine areas near Napa, Paso Robles or just north of Santa Barbara--or the national parks between San Francisco and Las Vegas (Yosemite, Death Valley, or Sequoia--or visit the redwoods near Carmel).
Near Miami, take a tour down to either the Florida Keys (head towards Key West, but you don't have to go all the way--though it is fun) or over to the Everglades for a day (don't just get out in the Everglades--you will get lost and probably disappear)--but instead visit an alligator farm or a place that advertises Airboat rides.
In New York, visit Times Square and also do some shopping down along Broadway near 34th street (where Macy's is at) and go see Chinatown and Little Italy.
