This is Grace from Shanghai.
The may holiday in China is only 3 days from May,1st to May, 3rd.
If you can avoid those several days, it's not so difficult to buy train tickets.
Even you cannot buy the train tickets, you still can choose long-distance bus to there, it will cost around 5 or 6 hours.

In china we have 2 huizhou, one is in east China, near shanghai. the other is in south China, which is near guangzhou.
which one would you like to visit?

Hi Goatherd,
The other one is not worth visiting in my view. In china we have more interesting villiages and beautiful country side to visit, a lot of nice peoples to meet as well. I think you could enjoy your time in eastern China this time.
but I worry about your train tickets would be bought in a miny "golden week" (apr30-may2), you know lots of people on then will spend their holidays by the train or bus.
