Does anyone know if its possible to use a friends car driver licence number to renew registration of my car in Qld? like as multiple registration? also, the car is not in my name. the fella i bought it of well i can't get intouch with him now. :S and rego is up at midnight tonight! really needa get it sorted asap!!
Im all for getting round government bureaucracy when I can. I'm not sure about this friends drivers license thing you are asking about. But since this idiot has screwed you over by not filling out the correct forms, why not keep it registered in his name and just pay his renewal?
I think this can be done online on the QLD Dept of roads website You may have all the relevant information you need on the WA form he signed. You will need an address in QLD that the registration sticker can be sent to, and that might be a problem as you'd need to fill in a change of address form. I think even if you didn't have the sticker, at least if you paid it online it would show in the computers that it had been paid and therefore cover you if you get pulled over by the cops.
One other thing that could be easier than talking to government employees, might be to visit a few local used car dealers. They will have dealt with this issue and know the in's and outs of taking care of it.
