Teaching English

I'm hoping to travel next year to South America and was wondering if anybody had any experience of teaching there to help fund there travels.

Yes. Done it and you can make a living, barely, doing it. You, of course, can make more if you can get on with a corporation in-house. But you'll need qualification in many places.

Berlitz, ubiquitous, doesn't need a cert. So try there first.

You can't really "fund" a trip teaching English in South America, at best you'll break even. You also need proper qualifications (almost) everywhere in SA.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry

PS To get qualified you'll also need to demonstrate better English than what you're using in your Original Post...

  • their, sorry I didn't realize I was being assessed.

Assessed? Not at all. I was simply making an observation (and your reply shows that it was accurate.)

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry

Does anyone know where can I get a cheap TEFL course. i have been looking for a while now and all the prices I found so far are all expensive. Even the classes in Asia. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Are you already TEFL certified?

What programs have you been looking into?

No not yet. I wanted to take up a TEFL course so I can get a teaching certificate and start teaching in either South America or Eastern Europe.

I have been wanting to take up a TEFL course too, but as mentioned, the prices are extremely high.

In case anyone knows anything please let me know
