I have a few suggestions. is north of Phuket. is not too far from krabi. Both would be OK for a holiday, not sure it would work out for your teaching career.
I think once you are there, the locals might have some good suggestions for you. Good luck with your planning.

is the center of the sexy nightlife on Phuket. If you are looking at beach bungalows, I doubt you want girls, boys and ladyboys offering their services in every bar you go in.
Pretty nice advice by vegas. you should seriously follow this one.
