Beijing- on a tour or self guided tours

HELP!

With a street map, some walking and use of the subway, you can see most of the things worth seeing in Beijing. The Lonely Planet guide to China is good too.

You can get a taxi for the nearby Great Wall at Badaling.

You'll need a flight to see the terracotta warriors at Xi'an and Mt Hua Shan about 75 miles to the east. Beijing to Xi'an is 568 miles. That's 100 minutes by plane.

There are China Travel Bureaus in a number of towns and they are very helpful. They speak some English and will help you book tours, flights, accommodation, etc.

There are a number of tour companies which do China and it's a matter of seeing what they offer and prices. You will of course need a visa.

That's a very long way to go for just one week.
