I'm planning on going to to Brisbane in Feb too! I am currently a nanny in London so I'm going to do a bit of Au Pair work over there to make some extra cash so I can stay longer. What date you thinking of going?

I land in Brisbane on the 10th of march starting my years working and travelling visa going too head up the gold coast to cairns after I've been in briasbane for a few weeks I think just going to play it by year.
Heading over myself, am 21 and looking for any travel buddies along the way, I would be lying if a said I literally wasn't crapping myself for the adventures to begin.
I've looked at hostels etc not sure if am gonna book before I go for the first few nights my friend has recommend one that's amazing close too the airport as well.

I'm crapping myself too lol ! I've never travelled that far by myself before. I have friends out there so it won't be so bad. I'm planning to sort my job (au pair) out before I get there so I'll have a place to live as well.
How much is everyone taking with them, I'm trying to save for the next 6 months and hopefully take about £4000-5000 with me and start working almost immediately so my money will last longer.
P.S By the way if any of you are also interested in being an au pair you don't need much childcare experience to do it and there are agencies that place you with a family if you don't want to do it yourself.
