Once on Samui, check with any travel shop about ferry prices back to . All the travel shops will try to sell you a combo boat, bus ticket back to BKK. The problem with this option is that the theft rate on the private buses is much higher than using the gov't bus system. Keep your valuables close and keep a good grip on them if you choose this option. Doing a bit of reading, your cheapest option is probably ferry back to ST, city bus to train station, back to BKK.
