Hi, have finally booked my flights and arrive in Sydney 3rd January 2014! Looking to go on a 14 day tour finishing in Cairns. Have looked into Contiki, Top Deck and STA travel beaches & reefs tour.
Any recommendations on which to go for or stay clear of?

I stay far away from tours myself, so can't really advice. Just wanted to quickly poll if you're aware of the seasons in Australia, specifically that the north (Brisbane and up) doesn't have the traditional 4 ones, but just a dry and a wet period, and that the wet period will be in full swing in January. Some people don't really mind this, but personally I'd prefer to avoid the humidity and torrential rains, and stick to the south instead of going up the east coast.
