Have you been to Bangkok before. Found it a bit daunting myself but once you get over the hustle n bustle there is lots to do and see. Looks like you wont be stoping long though.
Once you are in BKK.... The normal tourist trail is enjoyable. The temples are amazing (It was my first visit to Asia - Wow!).
The Labua hotel has a cocktail bar on the roof some 60 floors up. Yes expensive for the one drink but worth it just for the view and the party £10 for a mohito. Just make it last.... Samsung in the bag helped... lol. It is open to non residents but has a dress code. Summer dress would be fine. Amazing views of the sun set then a band afterwards.
Taxi's - on the meter every time!
Getting to the train station - dont leave it too late - city gets grid locked at times.
Will PM links but book overnight train to Chumpon which links with the ferry companies. Mini bus pick ups to the ferry are included. Buffet car party is great fun and good place to meet people. Music, beer and a laugh - closes at 11 or was it midnight tho. Food available on the train but i got my own supermarket stuff. Fruit / bread / salad etc. There are food stalls on the platform at Chumpon.
Koh Tao is great fun - digs from cheap to expensive. Loads of dive centres, prob too many but the competition keeps prices down. Will PM details of the one i used. Acomodation was in the price. Some lovely food to be had at the locals restaurants... fantastic value. I didnt venture far from town tbh. Did the course and headed south.
Bumped into a 14ft whale shark on the first training dive.... Awesome! How lucky is that!
Ferry to the surrounding islands are easy to get tickets for all over the islands. The ticket office will arrange pick ups and drop offs too.

As i will have 5 days from when my tour ends to when the fullmoon party starts I was thinking I might head Koh Samui for a day or two and then onto koh tao to do the scuba diving as i think that takes a few days and then head to Koh Phangan in time for the fullmoon party. Then after I have recovered from the party was going to head south to check out a few more islands and then back up toward bangkok for a few days before i fly to Australia. Dont wanna plan to much would rather just go with the flow but dont want to miss the fullmoon party :-) Was thinking of maybe booking a hostel in advance for the fullmoon party, what do you think??

Bangkok has many wonderful places to visit. If you love to see art then visit Bangkok Art and Cultural Center , and Floating Market for shopping lover.. Lumpini Park for nature lover very oldest park in the city , Hua hin , Wat Arun situated on bank of the Chao Phraya River.....
Thailand is on my bucket list and I have prepared list on what places to visit and things to do there. I am planning to go to Ayuthaya Historical Park first which was built in 1350 AD since I love to visit historical sites. No holiday will be completed without a day or two relaxing at the beach. Ko Chang, the second largest island in Thailand is the ideal place to visit too, specially to those looking for kick back. There are several stunning waterfalls throughout the island, rain forests to explore and coral reefs to dive to. More and more tourists are visiting Ko Chang each year, so it's wise togo and see it as soon as possible. I have listed as well Similan Islands and the Railay Beach.

I am thinking of spending 2 weeks island hopping around thailand and want to make the most of the little time i have. I will be finishing a contiki tour around asia on 3rd september and want to be in Koh Phangan on the the 8th September for the fullmoon party (as I have heard this is a must)
I was thinking of landing in bangkok and working my way down to Koh Phangan in time for the fullmooon party and popping into Koh tao to hopefully get my Scuba certificate on the way.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated as to which islands are a must see and what is the best form of travel as I am a 25yr old female and will b travelling on my own so would like some idea of what im doing :-)
or if anyone else is thinking of doing something similar feel free to get into contact am always grateful for a travel buddy :-)
