Thailand for xmas and new year??

Is going to Thailand a good time around xmas and new year??

'hanalan95',
Well, it is certainly the most popular time to be in Tland. High season (busy) is roughly Dec. 1 until March. It is cold in Europe, Japan, China, most of the US so many visitors choose the beaches of Tland over snow. Prices are up from low season and it is more difficult to find low costs rooms on arrival. That is the downside: busy & more expensive. The upside is that plenty of other young adults are around if you want to hook up and travel with other visitors. Once in BKK, get over to to the area to meet others your age. If you are outgoing at all, you will meet others while sightseeing, eating, partying. Join up with those that you feel comfortable with. It is just much more fun to be with others than going it alone. I've done SEA both ways. Alone and with friends, with friends is better IMO.

Good luck with your planning.
